| Most Knives of Alaska products are fixed blade knives. This means the blade does not fold, like a pocket knife, but is kept in a sheath. Some other companies make fixed blade knives with a peg that fits into the handle, but our fixed blade knives are full tang - the knife steel is part of the entire handle. This makes a knife much stronger and more dependable, and that's what we're all about!

The "Alpha Wolf Series"
Full-tang drop-point hunter-style blade, hand sharpened with special convex edge, is razor sharp. Slender .100" thick blade reduces drag when skinning and fleshing, easy to resharpen. The "Muskrat"
This unusually shaped knife is unbelievably effective for skinning and fleshing. The razor sharp edge extends completely along the rounded tip and top side for 1". This allows the user to skin very quickly with the knife by cutting in both directions with a quick flick of the wrist. The rounded point is also much less likely to accidentally cut through the skin of a valuable cape than is a very sharp pointed blade. This is especially important for a professional outfitter, a guide, or a hunter who wants to keep the skin or cape for tanning or mounting.

The "Jaeger" Boning Knife
What is a Jaeger? For starters it`s the German word for hunter, but the knife was actually named after the hawk-like bird named Jaeger that nests near the Alaska hunting and fishing lodge and is incredibly sleek and streamlined - just like our knife. This is possibly the most beautiful and sleekest knife we have ever made. Designed as a premier boning and caping knife, this is lightweight and easy to carry but incredibly versatile and strong, with a 0.118" thick blade. The non-slip ridges on the back of the blade will give you a comfortable platform on which to place either your forefinger or thumb. Also, the individule finger grooves and deep front choil provide a comfortable and positive grip. The sheath is made from 100% American split grain cowhide, vegetable tanned then oiled. It hangs at a 45 degree angle for added comfort.

The Yukon
The elliptical blade style of the Yukon Belt Knife proved itself with hunters and trappers in the far north years ago. We've made some significant modifications to the early blade style that we believe improves it. We manufacture two separate models of the elliptical blade. Both Model 1 and Model 2 have a grooved thumb choil for increased grip comfort and safety. The edge design of the two models is the distinguishing feature. Model 1 includes an edge on the back of the blade extending from the point for 1-3/4". Model 2 has no sharpened edge on the back of the blade. NOTE: Double-edged blades are not legal in some states. It is your responsibility to check your state laws to make sure that you are legal in purchasing or possessing a double-edged knife from Knives of Alaska.

The "Trekker Series"
Made with the same premium quality D2 Tool Steel, care, and dedication to performance we place in all our products, we have designed these three classic styled blades for the performance and weight conscious hunter. Those hunters who climb the highest, hunt the longest, and require a no-nonsense blade when it's time to put the meat on the pole. We reduced the weight by using an integral finger-guard rather than a separate and heavier bolster/finger guard and by designing in two large cutouts in the super strong full-tang handle. These modifications make these knives lighter and result in a perfectly balanced blade with the weight forward towards the tip. Responding to countless requests from outdoorsmen who have mislaid their knife while field-dressing, we are offering the Trekkers in Hunter Orange as well as traditional black.
